A walk in the clouds A walk in the clouds is more than a guided tour; it is an experience that you will not soon forget.

From the moment you arrive your professional guides will lead you through a unique and very dynamic tour. From river basin to tree top, the tour takes in all the splendour that nature has to offer.

The four hour round trip, offered from early May to late October and departing the Base Camp twice a day - three times a day in July and August - consists of:

Your Tour...
voyageur canoe A guided van tour through the private lands of Haliburton Forest and Wildlife Reserve Ltd., passing through forests and along lakes and streams.

A 1/2 kilometer walk along the scenic Pelaw River.

A short, guided, voyageur-canoe ride across a wilderness lake to the final destination.

Canopy boardwalk ... from here the tour continues into the forest canopy.

canopy tour The canopy boardwalk is the ultimate highlight of this outing. Over half a kilometer long - and as such the longest of its kind in the world - the canopy boardwalk winds through the treetops some 10-20 meters above the forest floor. A platform suspended from the treetops above, becomes the gathering place where you can enjoy a leisurely snack while your guide elaborates on the forest environment surrounding you. A spectacular view across the lakes and forests becomes a fitting closure to your tree top tour.

Safety
safety Your safety during the tour is our priority and will not be compromised. The canopy boardwalk has been designed to meet, or exceed, all industry standards. Before any person leaves the comfort of the forest floor your guide will introduce you to all the safety procedures and equipment. The latter, especially harnesses, have been chosen to offer the ultimate in safety while providing a comfortable fit to persons of all ages and sizes.

Guides
