Haliburton Forest is one company with two divisions and eight businesses. We provide year-round employment to ~175 people and work closely on a regular basis with ~30 independent contractors. With a skilled management team and a tight operational focus, our business strategy is to be environmentally sustainable, socially responsible, and economically viable in everything that we do.

The Tourism & Recreation division shows the real uniqueness of Haliburton Forest. It is a research facility and an education centre. It is a property where members of our community make their livelihoods, and thousands of visitors make their day. Haliburton Forest is 100,000 acres, 100 lakes, and millions of trees, and it is home to an abundance of wildlife.

Our Forest Products division operates four hardwood sawmills in central Ontario (Haliburton, Huntsville, South River & Palmer Rapids) that have a combined annual production capacity of ~40 million fbm, employs roughly 100 people and manages almost 1 million acres of crown and private land across central Ontario.

Eco-Log Homes is a customized log home kit production business, which utilizes the Hemlock timber produced within Haliburton Forest. For more than 25 years, we have provided clients with small cabins, full-sized cottages, and everything in between. This business was created to fulfill our ethical and economic obligation to add value to the wood that we harvest from our forest.

Huntsville Forest Products (HFP), formerly RYAM Huntsville Sawmill was acquired in October 2020 by Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve. HFP has a production capacity of ~30 million fbm of hardwood lumber annually. In addition to acquiring the sawmill Haliburton Forest has also acquired the Forestry division of RYAM Huntsville which supplies the mill with sawlogs from French Severn Forest, Algonquin Forestry Authority, as well as other Crown forest entities in the region.

Almaguin Forest Products (AFP) located in South River, ON is a subsidiary of Haliburton Forest & Wild Life Reserve and produces approximately 4.5 million fbm per year of hardwood lumber and sawmill residues, as well as hardwood timber products like veneer, sawlogs, firewood, and pulp.

Located on the shores of the Madawaska River, NFP has been in the lumber business since 1950. It traditionally processes a mix of hardwoods and pine. NFP has annual production capacity of 10 million fbm and procures sawlogs from contractors working throughout central Ontario.
