We can all identify many of the birds that we see but how much do we know about various aspects of their lives? Come and find out some uncommon facts about our common birds.
August 17th – Don’t Let The Turtles Disappear! w/ Grace Wiley of Turtle Guardians
Join Turtle Guardians for a presentation on the importance of turtles and the need for conservation. Meet our live teaching turtles, talk to turtle experts, and learn how you can help protect these vulnerable creatures!
August 24th – Foraging for Plants w/Becky Lamb of Wild Foragers Society
Discover common trail-side plants that you can include in your day-to-day through eating, herbal medicine, or even avoiding. You’ll learn about identification, suggested recipes and remedies, and have a chance to see real samples.
August 31st – The Story of the Gypsy Moth, and What We Can Do to Slow the Spread w/Sadia Butt of University of Toronto
The current infestation of Gypsy Moths in Ontario has highlighted the impact of invasive species can have on our trees. In this presentation we will learn about Gypsy Moth biology, behaviour, and the best practices to control their spread.
